“Label - No Label”

This year our special exhibition during (and after) Amsterdam GayPride refers to the habit of putting labels on groups of people. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s insulting and sometimes ... it has developed to a label that’s proudly used. Hence the first part of the title - ‘Label’.

Take a look at the ‘Bears’ series by the Spanish photographer José Manuel Alorda, the ‘Angel Boys’ by Rohn Meijer, and the intimate portraits of gays, lesbians and transgenders in Turkey by Diana Blok (‘See through us’).

But you can’t put a label on everybody and everyone. So that’s where ‘No Label’ comes in. Just beautiful portraits of beautiful men and women.

For the first time a part of Hans Withoos’ new series ‘The Apocalypse’ will be shown, next to intuiging work by Aernout Overbeeke, and Mirjam Brinkhof. Gon Buurman will show some of her great classics and Sabrina van den Heuvel will lead you to her ‘Bedroom Diaries’ ...
